On Saturday, we discussed the journey of a M’tzora, one who has been stricken with tza’ra’at, the skin disease thought by the rabbis as being cause by lashon hara – evil speech. The person had to exit the camp shouting “Tamei! Tamei!” – “Impure! Impure!” Was this for the person or the community or both? Was it a punishment? How did it affect them?
