Shavua Tov! Wondering what we discussed this past Shabbat? Here is a link to Friday Night’s D’Var Torah: Zionism from Both Sides.
As I mentioned, I encourage you to vote in the 39th World Zionist Congress election. This “parliament of the Jewish people” will convene in Jerusalem in October 2025. Voting in this election is the way to have your voice heard in Israel. One-third of the representatives will come from the United States and they will make decisions on how to allocate over $1 billion annually to support the most pressing needs across Israeli society and the Diaspora. To vote, you must be over age 18 and Jewish and you must pay a small $5 processing fee. I hope you will vote this year. Information is available at https://azm.org/elections/.
Note that next week we have our special presentation on antisemitism by Abbey Krain, senior associate regional director at ADL Philadelphia. Dinner will be at 6:00 p.m., the service is at 7:15 and the presentation is at 8:00. If you would like to come, please call the Bnai Shalom office. We are grateful to Dr. Stanley and Judy Walker for underwriting this program, as well as our membership in ADL’s Kulanu program.
Hope to see you then! Shavua Tov!
