On Saturday, we discussed the metaphor of God as Rock and what that means to us. We considered the nature of rocks. We considered that rocks are thought of as unchanging, but they aren’t – they can be changed by water, such as in a canyon. In Torah, we see that God sometimes changes, as when Moses pleads on the Israelites’ behalf. We thought about Moses being unable to enter the land of Israel because he struck the rock at Meribah.
