Shabbat Shalom! Parashat Sh’lach L’cha and Pride Shabbat!

Shabbat Shalom! This week’s Torah Portion is Sh’lach L’cha, Numbers 13:1–15:41. I hope you will join us for Shabbat Services this week: Friday night at 7:30 p.m.

It is Pride Shabbat! Come celebrate the wonderful diversity of our Bnai Shalom community! Pride Shabbat is open to the greater community. Please feel free to invite friends and family. For security reasons, we ask that all non-members register by calling the office or by going to https://my.linkpod.site/Pride-Shabbat-Bnai-Shalom. Thank you!

Torah Question of the Week:

Have you ever seen something with a friend and been absolutely sure you saw exactly what had happened, only to find out that your friend saw it completely differently? In this week’s Torah portion 12 men go to scout out the land of Canaan. Ten of them come back saying there is no way the Israelites can take the land. Two of them – Caleb and Joshua – come back saying they can. Unlike the Israelites, who have God to tell them who is right and who is wrong (spoiler alert: it is Caleb and Joshua!), we have to figure it out for ourselves. What do you do when you are faced with a situation like this? How do you determine what you both actually saw?
