Shabbat Shalom! Parashat Pinchas

Shabbat Shalom! This week’s Torah Portion is Pinchas, Numbers 25:10–30:1. I hope you will join us for Shabbat Services this week: Friday night at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday morning service at 10:00 a.m.

Torah Question of the Week:

Have you ever been presented with a decision that you thought was unfair? If everyone in your class was given a free pass on the homework but you, what would you do? In this week’s Torah portion, the daughters of Tz’lof’chad ask to receive his inheritance, claiming it was not fair that the family inheritance should be lost because Tz’lof’chad had no sons. God agrees and sets forth a very progressive system of property inheritance for that time period. The action of these daughters was an act of real bravery. Have you ever stood up in such a way for yourself or another person?
