Shabbat Shalom! Parashat Korach

Shabbat Shalom! This week’s Torah Portion is Korach, Numbers 16:1-18:32.

Tonight is Cantor Jill’s last Shabbat. We hope you will come to bid her a fond farewell! We will miss her beautiful voice and arrangements here at Bnai Shalom! RSVPs for the dinner have closed, but we would love to have you at the service tonight, Friday, June 27th, at our usual time of 7:30. The service will be followed by a special Oneg celebrating Cantor Jill. Please come and say l’hitra’ot and b’hatzl’cha (’till we meet again and good luck)!

Torah Question of the Week:

Have you ever wished something would happen to prove your point and then had it actually happen? Was that a good thing or a bad thing? In this week’s Torah portion, Moses tells the Israelites that they will know God is taking action to punish Korach and his followers for their rebellion if the ground opens up and swallows the rebels. And so it does. Do you think Moses regrets having his warning come true? How can you reframe such wishes so you will not come to regret them?
