Shabbat Shalom! Parashat D’varim

Shabbat Shalom! This week’s Torah Portion is D’varim, Deuteronomy 1:1–3:22. – Welcome to the Book of Deuteronomy! I hope you will join us for Shabbat Services this week: Friday night at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday morning service at 10:00 a.m. I hope you will also join us for our Shabbat Mincha Service tomorrow, Saturday, July 18, at 4:00 p.m. as we celebrate the Bar Mitzvah of Benjamin Peikes-Wertheimer in person at Bnai Shalom or via livestream on our YouTube channel.

Torah Question of the Week:

Have you ever been told it is time to move on? How did you react? Did you listen or did you struggle with it? In this week’s Torah portion, Moses recounts the two times when God told him that he and the Israelites had stayed long enough in one place – first around Mount Horeb and then around Mount Seir. They (of course) did as God had said. Do you take the advice of others when it is time to move on from what you are doing? Do you trust your own judgment on this?
