Shabbat Shalom! Parashat B’midbar

Shabbat Shalom! This week’s Torah Portion is B’midbar, Numbers 1:1–4:20. I hope you will join us for Shabbat Services this week! On Friday, May 15, we will join Temple Israel of Lehighton for their final Friday night service in their beautiful building. We will convene for Shabbat dinner at 6:00 p.m., followed by the service at 7:30 p.m. Our Saturday morning service on May 16 will be at the usual time of10:00 a.m.

Torah Question of the Week:

When you are managing something, do you need to know exactly who will help and exactly what each person will do? In this week’s portion, the role of the Levites is specified and the clans of the three sons of Levi are each responsible for different aspects of taking care of the Temple. God tells them what they need to do and they of course do it. (This doesn’t work as well for human managers!) How do you communicate what needs to be done and how do you determine who will do it?
