Shabbat Shalom! Parashat B’har-B’chukotai

Shabbat Shalom! This week’s Torah Portion is a double Torah Portion: B’har, Leviticus 25:1-26:2, and B’chukotai, Leviticus 26:3-27:34. I hope you will join us for Shabbat Services this week: Friday, May 8, at 7:30 p.m.

Torah Question of the Week:

When someone borrows something from you, how do you treat that person? Do you give them respect? Do you remind them often of what they borrowed – or charge them interest? Does it make a difference who the person is? In this week’s portion, the Israelites are forbidden from charging each other interest. How does it change your perspective if you are lending something to someone simply to help, not expecting something additional in return?
