Shabbat Shalom!
We had a wonderful time celebrating the first night of Chanukah by combining latkes and games with the time-honored Jewish tradition of (Kosher) Chinese food and a movie on Christmas. This year is only the fifth time in the past 114 years that Chanukah has begun on the same day as Christmas. We’ll have to wait until 2035 for it to happen again!
This week’s Torah Portion is Mikeitz, Genesis 37:1–40:23. I hope you will join us for Shabbat Services (and a Chanukah celebration) this week: Friday, December 27, at 7:30 p.m.
Torah Question of the Week:
Have you ever not recognized someone who has recognized you? Did you behave differently than you would have if you had known who the person was? In this week’s Torah portion, Joseph’s brothers come before him in Egypt, only they do not recognize him. When you do not recognize someone, how do you determine who they are?
Want to learn about the Torah portion?
I hope to see you at services! Shabbat Shalom and Chag Urim Sameach!
