Shabbat Shalom! Parashat Tazria-M’tzora

Shabbat Shalom! This week’s Torah Portion is a double Torah Portion: Tazria, Leviticus 12:1-13:59, and M’tzora, Leviticus 14:1–15:33. I hope you will join us for Shabbat Services this week: Friday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 3, at 10:00 a.m.

Torah Question of the Week:

Do you trust expert opinions? Under what circumstances? In this week’s Torah portion, we learn that the Kohanim are entrusted with diagnosing, treating and preventing the spread of tzara’at, a skin disease marked by discoloration (often translated inaccurately as leprosy). The Israelites trusted the Kohanim implicitly to make these diagnoses and to set forth the steps that needed to be taken to prevent the spread of the disease. What does it take for you to trust an expert? How do you determine which experts to trust?
