Shabbat Shalom! Parashat Bo & Debbie Friedman Shabbat

Shabbat Shalom! This week’s Torah Portion is Bo, Exodus 10:1-13:16.

I hope you will join us for Shabbat Services this week! Friday, January 31, at 7:30 p.m., is our Debbie Friedman Shabbat, a special “All-Debbie” service. For security purposes and for our Oneg counts, we ask that everyone who is planning to come to RSVP, even if you are a “regular”. You can do so by calling the office or by going to https://my.linkpod.site/Debbie-Friedman-Bnai-Shalom. Thank you!

We will also have our usual Shabbat morning services on Saturday, February 1, at 10:00 a.m.

Torah Question of the Week:

Have you had an engaging discussion with a friend or parent/child recently? Have you approached it by asking questions first or by telling the other person what you think first? In this week’s Torah portion, we learn the origin of the most well-known aspects of our Passover Seder – the commandment to retell the story of the Exodus from Egypt by answering the questions of our children. This approach to learning is deeply ingrained in Jewish tradition and practice: we recognize that some questions have no answers and the value is in the discussion. When have you approached a discussion with a “questions first” approach or without trying to come to a conclusion? What did you learn by doing so?
