On Saturday, we discussed the commandment to love the stranger because we were strangers in the land of Egypt. Here the commandment specifically references providing food and clothing to the stranger (as well as the orphan and widow). Why does our Torah specify food and clothing? Is it because those are harder to provide? Is it to give us an example? And what does loving the stranger really mean? What do you think? Here is a link to the source sheet.
