Shabbat Shalom! This week’s Torah Portion is Va’etchanan, Deuteronomy 3:23–7:11. I hope you will join us for Shabbat Services this week: Friday, July 24, at 7:30 p.m.
Torah Question of the Week:
Has someone ever told you, “You should have been there!”? Were they able to help you capture the feeling they had from their experience? In this week’s portion, Moses recounts the Ten Commandments to the Israelites (with some modifications from the original!). Many commentators believe this is so the next generation of Israelites will feel as if they received the Ten Commandments from God at Mount Sinai, just as their parents did. Indeed, when the Ten Commandments are read from the Torah each year, we stand so that we, too, are receiving them directly. What can we do to share with a friend something that we have experienced? Is telling someone about an experience enough or should we share it in other ways?

I hope to see you at services! Shabbat Shalom!
